Betting apps? - UK

I am trying to install the skybet and ladbrokes apps to my new 4s but the powers that be at play store do not seem to want to play ball and allow any search success.

Does any of you guys have a direct link to these apps through the phones internet application to allow me to install. I seriously hate that the mary whitehouse effect is still rife and we are not able to install what we like lol.

I have been to the respective websites of the above looking for a link to the android app but i was dammed if i could find it

When i had my last phone - the iphone 4, every single bookies was avialable to download so at least apple allow you to get what you want without too much trouble.

Even the LIDL app which along with Aldi was fantastic on apple, but on android it is pants.

Thanks in advance

Are you sure that these Android apps actually exist, because a search of the Play Store from my desktop turned up nothing?

Ladbrokes definitely don't appear to have an Android app available. From their front page:

Sports Bet is the FREE full sports betting app from Ladbrokes. Available on the iPhone App Store. Click on the link to download now!
No mention of any other platform supports.

Yes im certain. A friend has the same phone and has managed to get at least the sky bet app but cant remember how he got it. He thinks through the webpage on his phone

Nope, just tried it (of no interest to me, but I thought I'd see if I could figure out the problem) and the download link just throws you back to the skybet site without downloading anything. Even tried typing the url for the apk by hand and it does the same.

All I can suggest is contacting them directly and telling them that their android apk download link is broken, and seeing whether you get a response.

I sussed it guys. There is an app but not available through play store. I downloaded another app downloader called getjar and i now have both the apps i need.

cheers for your replies.

there are a few sites, not play offering the apk files now arent there?

Yes there are. While alternative app stores and repositories like Amazon, Samsung Apps, GetJar and SlideMe, are reputable and only have authorised apps. There are many shady, disreputable, often Chinese ones distributing apps without permission and infringing copyright. Not only are they illegal, you don't know for sure what you might be getting. The APKs may well have been tampered with and could very possibly be malicious.

Forum rules prohibit promoting and discussing illegal app sites.

If it's betting from a phone that one is after, many of the UK betting sites have a mobile optimised version that works in the browser...nothing to install.
