Big problem with data usage! Help please

Hello, for the past two months I have been having a problem with my data usage which never happened before.... I have a one gig plan that I never went over until recently. Last month I have used about 6 gig and this month I'm almost at 16gig! I don't u derstand how this can happen because I don't do anything more than I used to... no facebook, no YouTube... When I check my data usage it says that android manager is the big user; 15.25gig and browser 335mb... What is android manager? I suspect my boyfriend installed it to spy on me and listen but I'm not sure... when i read the app details it says it can change my audio setting, record, acces my text, call logs. I might be wrong , I don't know nothing about my phone....but I suspect this is the cause. I tried uninstalling but it won't unlike the other apps... Can anyone help me?

Hi Androidmtl welcome to Android Forum, we are here help you.

I don't know what "Android Manager" is. It's not on my phone. Maybe someone else has more information, who can help.

Thing is, if you're suspecting your boyfriend of installing spyware on your phone, maybe time to find a new boyfriend? :(

Hi there and welcome.
Unexplained data use sure sounds like a red flag.
I did some researching and in each instance a factory reset is suggested.
Back up your contacts to your gmail account and do a factory reset.
After this reset I would put a password on your phone to avoid any chance of any tracking/spy apps being installed on your phone.
Here's one article that specifically notes " data usage skyrockets for no reason"
Is Someone Spying on Your Phone? - Techlicious

Also if doing a factory reset for some reason does not solve your problem post back here with the model of your phone and whether or not you would be interested in r00ting your phone. The upside to this is it will allow you to definitely remove any app you wish.
There are people here who can help you do this if you wish...but I would definitely start with a factory reset.
