Biggest Annoyance with M8

By far the biggest point of contention is the camera. If you are a camera buff who wants to turn your pictures into large prints this isn't the device for you. Another common complaint is the length of the device and how it affect the use of the power button, though with the double tap feature this is really a minor issue. There is also an issue with some phones that have loose volume buttons.
Aside from that I think everyone can agree it is a solid device, on par with other recently released phones.
If you aren't a serious photo buff you will not have any complaints. Either way I would suggest visiting the photo thread in the sticky section to make your own decision.
For me, I love every aspect of this phone and would not trade it for any other device on the market

What is the biggest concern about a phone?

My issues are text freeze, bluetooth confusion and percentage of "no signal" at home is four times higher than my previous phone, the htc Droid incredible 4g LTE.
Airplane mode "trick?" corrects the first two issues for a time but they ultimately return. The phone still thinks its connected to my jabra freeway bluetooth at times, even when I turn the jabra off. Really confusing.
The signal thing seems a bit high at 16 percent considering the 4g LTE routinely registered less than 4 percent signal loss. Hopefully a future update will address these issues. Good thing I'm not at home ALL the time.
Edit. Just check percentage without ssignal for today. 21 percent without signal. Maybe i need to check in with Verizon.

The rounded back and general slipperiness of the phone. I guess htc was scared apple would sue if they made the phone more square like the iPhone is. The rounded back makes the phone wobble on a flat surface, something I really don't like. Not a deal breaker, but an annoyance for sure.

hi - its a great device - the best ive owned so far
for me the slight annoyances are the write to sd card blocking and the poor led notification support ..... both now fixed on my phone by rooting it
i find the camera is good for me
...there do seem to have been a few build issues with the device - i had to return my first one due to very poor in call sound quality - but the replacement has been fine
...if i were you i would buy one

This is probably my biggest current beef. Most of the time it works, but sometimes when I get in my car it pairs but the audio streaming doesn't work anyway, so I have to shut bluetooth off and on again to get it to work.
This kinda bugged me at first too, but now I've grown to like it. I like that I can pick it up by pressing my thumb on the top, on one side, to make the other side see-saw up for easy grabbing, rather than trying to pick it up by it's skinny edges.

My M8 has froze half a dozen times, and some of the games I dload are laggy, such as "Family Guy" :The quest for stuff, "Smash Hit"(rarely ever opens, never had issues with it on LG G2), what is odd that when it starts to freeze, a light blue border present's itself, and nothing works, had to hold down the power button for at least 30 seconds, anyone else having any of these issues?, or am I the only one, just curious, just frustrates me a bit, debating on a hard reset...

If you're having issues with only a few apps, it's probably the apps. They may not be optimized for the latest version of kit Kat or even just the model of phone. If it's not the apps then you just have a defective phone.

That is possible, I have played other games like "Farm Heroes" and "Scramble with Friends", no issues, good point!

The length and general slippiness of the phone. It slips and slides on any surface and just increases the risk of it crashing to the ground and cracking. I already put a small dent on the metal case. The camera is the definition of average which is disappointing, but not my primary focus. The internals of the phone and performance more than make up for all the shortcomings though. There is no perfect device, but this phone may be the closest one yet for me. The phone is long and I don't understand why it was necessary for HTC to add the bevel with HTC on it, just adds unnecessary length. That one perplexes me. Just close your eyes and grab one, you will find something to be disappointed in either way.

Can you explain what you mean? I didn't/don't know anything about what 4.4 does but I noticed a couple games I have uninstalled themselves and stopped working twice and it looks like part of each game is on my SD card so I'm thinking it's related to your comment. Are there any fixes?

I haven't had any apps freeze on me but I have had a lot of lag with one game in particular, Worms Armageddon. I never had that issue on my old Rezound. However, I noticed that when it lags if I close all the other apps in the background the lag goes away.

I have a photo app that refuses to let me move pictures from the public realm to the private one as it used to do. The developer advises the new Kit Kat is the reason as ones control over the SD card is restricted.
I have problems with a video app as well....
Others have reported issues with music...

The total lack of system sounds. I like to hear a click when I press an icon or take a picture. But the m8 gives no audible feedback whatsoever. Very annoying.
Go into settings> sounds and check touch sounds. In the camera app you can go into camera settings and enable shutter sounds (which are on by default) . Keep in mind the I'd the volume is muted there will be no sounds at all. Hope this helps you out.

Not really an annoyance but a concern but I notice with the M8 being one week out of the box for me that battery life seems to have drastically taken a hit with no explainable reason found within the power menu. What used to be a 4-8% drop while I slept has turned into almost 30% drop every night.
