Biggest issue.. always getting notifications, often can't tell what it was for!

I am often getting notifications... but it is hard to sort out what each is for. I have the MMS and phone calls coming up on the screen... but others are hard to tell. Because every program controls its own notification, it is a nightmare! You would think the notification bar/page would tell you what the last one was from . Sometimes yes, sometimes no.. but it does give you ads.. great.

The other useless thing are those little icons at the top. Most of the time, I have no idea what they are for. No wonder Android gets the rep as a phone for geeks. That's why people want iphones... much simpler. Some of these things could be fixed so easily!

If you get ads try getting air push detector. It will tell you the apps responsible.

Also, if you pull down the notification bar and long press on the notification, it gives the option 'app info'.

Hope that helps

When you pull the notification window up, there should be a button that says "Clear". Tap it and all notifications will be cleared.

If you're seeing ads in your notification window, you can get an app called an "Air Push Detector" that will identify the app that's making ads appear in your notifications.

The two half arrows in a circle chasing each other means your phone is syncing with your Google account/Facebook/etc.
The B is for Bluetooth.
The circle and plus sign is GPS.
4G/3G/E/G is your data connection.
The bars are your phone signal.
The battery is your battery life.
The clock is the clock - should be fairly obvious.

Any other symbols are probably from apps you have downloaded or came pre installed on your phone.

Ads on you're notification bar? That socks... Anyway! As a ex ios lover the Android notifications are different but I'm. Used to them now. As the poster above said I look at the left hand side of the notification bar, that tells me what apps have things waiting for me.
