Root Bionic Bootloop (not the usual kind!!)

Okay, a long time ago my Bionic was running really slow and having issues with WiFi, so I rebooted it... It came back up and was fine and about a minute or two later it completely rebooted, came back up was fine, a minute or two again same thing, over and over...

Well, I pulled it out of the drawer today and want to fix it! It's still doing the same thing..!

I booted into stock recovery and did a cache wipe, no go... did a factory reset/wipe, still in boot loop....

Is it possible that it's hardware related and just dead, or think it's fixable?

Would love to use this as a shop phone/diag phone with my ODB ready...

Thanks!

Corey

I moved your issue to the All-Things-Root sub-forum. I'm currently on an un-root-ed Bionic and have never encountered the issue.

Good luck.

Well, flashing went fine, no issues, however once it fired up and started setting up apps, etc. it started rebooting itself again...

Very frustrating, I love this phone!!!

Thanks for the help anyway...

The only other thing it could be is the battery. Amazon usually has them pretty cheap.

Thought about that, but if it was the battery, I would think it would do it in fastboot and recovery as well, not just when booted into the OS itself...

Not necessarily, a full running system with all the radios on and full screen etc takes much more power (and memory) than the very basic screen on fastboot.

Well it reboots even when I boot into safe mode... thinking it's shot... oh well I really like my galaxy s3 but wanted the bionic for a shop phone...
