Help Bionic storage issues

TheEdge

Newbie
My bionic routinely fills up, and I get that obnoxious low storage space warning. I don't really have a lot of apps installed.

The numbers just don't seem to add up...

16gb total storage.

Application storage
1.11 gb used for apps
2.37 gb free

Internal storage
2.96 gb apps
3.75 gb free

6.12 gb total free... only 4.07 gb being used by my apps.

What in the world is using all my storage? I don't have a lot of pictures/videos (50 mb), and what I do have is on the SD card.

Anyone know how much space ICS takes up? I have tried all of the various cache cleaners, I have wiped the cache manually through restore as well.

There could be more than that involved, too. Are you rooted? Does the BIONIC atually recognize your 16 GB microSD as a 16 GB microSD? Are any of your apps moved from the phone to internal storage, particularly large games?

To answer a few questions.

Yes I did a full factory reset after I installed ICS.

The phone shows my SD card, it is just an 8gb card. Mostly empty aside from the mentioned pictures/video I have taken with the phone.

My phone is not rooted, yes some of the apps are moved to "internal storage" but that is all part of the 16gb built into the Bionic correct?
