Bionic's GPS

A month ago I purchased the Samsung Charge, but I was so displeased with the Charge's GPS feature that I sold the phone and went back to the original DROID that has rock solid GPS. I am a longtime fan of the Motorola DROID and am looking hard at the Bionic. Can anyone tell me if they've had problems with it's GPS function (ie. trouble locating GPS signal or dropping GPS signal)? I am new to forums posting and look forward to your guys' input. :)

GPS works like a charm. so does the compass function.

Mine is doing fine and the compass as well, but like everything in life I am sure you will always get a few that will berate the Bionic because theirs does not work right.

I had a "gps signal lost" today in eastern connecticut... First one, but the signal in that area is kinda weak... I was used to the Eris before this, and that had a WAY less reliable GPS signal, so this is still a lot better... My hunch is, now that this has happened on a second phone, it's really just the nature of the beast, more than it is the quality of the phone.

GPS works with flying colors for me too. Never had a problem and I use it everyday. Finds me pretty quickly, and I use Car Home Ultra in my car and it updates fast, accurate Speed and Compass reading.

I've got the bionic and upgraded from the original Droid. I've never lost GPS signal on either. The Bionic seems to lock faster than the OG Droid.

For me it's been the best gps chip I've seen. It even worked at 37000 ft going 500mph while the phone is in airplane mode. I've never seen one lock instantly like that.
