Help Bitmoji problems

I have a Samsung S8. My wife has iphone 8.
Wife installed bitmoji and it works perfectly. She encouraged me to try it and so I did.
It works okay if I start a conversation from the app. However, if I am texting with someone and they send me a bitmoji, my phone won't allow me to respond with a bitmoji within the conversation.
The app will have me REsign in to (bitmoji) and then asks me who the recipient will be. This is very annoying.
I don't feel I should have to start another conversation just to respond to her with bitmoji.
How do I make the app let me respond seamlessly without having to start the conversation anew?
(lol, I hope I've explained this properly)

ps - Google suggested I install Gboard and this was suppose to fix that but it did not. I don't see any changes with Gboard except it just adds another useless process.
 
Install a different messaging app, such as textra or yaata from the play store.
 
I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I have the same issue with my testing apps, Yaata and the default LG One. Did you ever find a solution? I'm not sure if it's a texting app issue or a be Bitmoji issue.
 
I found a answer to this problem. Yes, and it works! I use gboard (but other keyboards work) and you must have bitmoji app installed.
If someone texts you and you want to answer with a bitmoji you do this: 1. Hit the little attachment paper clip. 2. on the bottom there are three options, pick "other" 3. select "image" and whala!
 
Thank for the quick response! I attempted that but I do not have an attachment icon, so it must be an app thing .I tried Pulse and the Bitmoji inserted see it should, but the app doesn't have enough customizations . I'll contact the developer.
 
You must have an attachment icon. You can attach a photo can't you? It's the same button. your phone should then ask you if you want: 1. camera 2. gallery 3. other
You choose "other" then pick "image".
When I do this bitmoji comes up automatically.
