bizarre battery behaviour

hi guys, i wondered if you could help, i have a 18 month old HTC Desire and since Sunday it just shuts down when it feels like it, i can have a almost full battery indicator and if for instance i am on the Internet it with no apparent reason tells me its shutting down, or to connect the charger all though prior to it telling me this it was showing a good battery strength!! i am hoping that it is the battery... although not convinced it almost seems like something is shorting out and draining the battery, any suggestions would be appreciated :D

Sounds to me that it might not be the battery at all. Have you installed anything that lines up with shutoff problem’s time frame?
 
hey guys.
yep everything seems all good with settings etc and there isnt any sorftware updates avaible, so i think it is the phone it did it twice yersterday and then you have to wait for it to charge its a right pain as i need to be contactable all the time!! might look at the I phone as i think they are a little more satble my wife has a 3GS and doesnt have any probs with it, she also has a better signal, 3G connection etc. or maybe its just HTC phones that are not so good i have never been that impressed with this anyway!!!! :(
 
Just to let you know, it was the battery. It now works fine,so worth bearing in mind if anyone has a similar problem!
