Black/Dark Spots in AMOLED Display

I just sold my gt-i9100 and picked up my S3 yesterday. :D

Last night, while laying in bed (lights off) i noticed what appeared to be some sort of odd formation on a dark area of the displayed picture. It doesnt show up in daylight or under any other color.

Go into a pitch dark room or wait until night when its pitch dark out and google "black" hit "images" and load the black image. You should see NO speckles of dark anywhere.

I had quite a lot and ended up taking it back to the store today for a full exchange on another new one. Went into the server room at work with the lights off and found nothing.

Just wanted to let you guys know to check for this and make sure your screen isnt having this issue. It may or may not lead to some sort of failure at some point (cool/hot spots...maybe a stretch?).

There have been a lot of complaints about this, so it's pretty common. Fortunately, both my S3s are perfect in this regard and it's a good thing because I use my phone in complete darkness with the brightenss way down in the middle of the night a lot.

I'm not sure how much of an issue this is... whenever I pull up "black wallpaper" or have something with black background and white text, I never see the spots. I only see them on occasion when an app is loading and a black screen shows up.

This. I have a couple but they don't bug me.

upon further inspection, i found the new phone has them too, but they are way smaller and i noticed it again at night...i couldnt see anything at all in the server room.
