For those of you who had to work today and work retail, how was your work day? busier than last year? make quota? have fun?

personally today was my stores busiest day since opening a little over a year ago. destroyed our expected quota, and was actually a really fun day. completely chjanged how I look at black friday as a retail worker.

If a person didn't get hurt or killed while walking in to a store I call that a good day. Hats off to the people that work retail. To put up with one of the rudest time of the year.

When I worked retail eons ago I thought Black Friday was as bad is it could get. Then we got the hordes of returns in the days after Christmas. Black Friday might make some people crazy when they get stuck in crowds, don't get what they want etc, but it seems like 90% of people come pre-irritated when they want to return something. It's like they think you won't give them the refund/exchange unless they're complete dicks to you...

I used to work retail about 12 years ago, and i must say that it was horrible on black Friday. You would think that people wanting to get pictures framed wouldn't be that big of a thing, but holy crap! There would be lines out the doors!

My only retail job is part-time at Starbucks and thankfully I didn't work that day, because even on a normal day, it's too busy for my tastes, and yes, people are complete douche nozzles.

Man I hate people....

In the chaos of Black Friday I enjoyed using the opportunity to be a dick to people who were rude. I had other people to help so I didn't feel like wasting my time and they were in too much of a xmasgiftrage to complain :D I'll never go back to retail. Made me lose faith in society

after working a black friday I couldnt imagine actuallt attempting to shop on one.

this years black friday for me was the busiest yet and my store set a company record for profit. Luckily most of my customers were really nice and it wasnt that bad. plus 800$ commision for a 6 hour shift isnt bad at all.

Worst black friday was the same year circuit city announced bankruptcy so not only did we already have people going bat shit crazy over 20$ savings we had people insisting that they "deserve more savings since we were going out of business" top it off I had to work 4am to midnight, it was one hell of a day probably worst work day of my life.
