Black screen blocks wallpaper

I cant figure out why the wallpaper is being blocked. The phone is a Moto G 2nd gen on verizon running 5.1. It was originally a pre-paid version until I talked them into adding it to the account. You can see a little bit of it on the bottom. It's the same on every screen that displays wallpaper. The only app installed is Nova.
