Help Black Screen...Phone on. Please help.

Lurker
I woke up this morning, took my phone off the charger, and my screen is black. The green charging led is still on, even though my phone is now off the charger. I cant turn the phone off (make the led turn off). I'm not sure what to do. Normally, I'd remove the battery and put it back but obviously this isn't an option with the s6. :(

Generally with phones that have a non-removable battery, you can hold the power button for ~5-10 seconds to simulate a battery pull. You could try that to see if it helps.

Also, welcome to the forum :)

Thanks for the quick reply. And I tried that once and just tried it a second time, even holding the power button 30+ seconds. no luck.

My initial reaction was just like "Oh I'll just wait till my phone dies." But its on 100% since it was charging all last night and with a black screen and no usage it could survive weeks.

Welp. I figured it out. I had been trying to access the boot menu by holding the power key and the volume up button. when all the while I should have been holding the volume down button. *facepalm*

once I got to the boot menu I selected normal boot and all is well.
