Help Black screen so annoying!!! (SGS)

everytime i read my messages or open an application or slide my screen, i always get black screen then comes my wallpaper then my apps slowly to restore. also my messages takes time to load. my fone is already froyo 2.2 rooted and lag fix. pls help as i cannot use my phone that long because of black screen which is happening frequently lately. thanks

This might sound like a silly question but when was the last time you turned your phone off? also how many apps do you have installed, and how many home screens do you use? are they all full of widgets/shortcuts etc?
I know my phone occasionally slows up but that's usually due to a force close of an app.
My friend had this problem and he un-installed a few apps and it sorted it out, I am assuming he either had to much installed, or an app he had installed was badly coded causing slow downs.

i did that. it improves the performance. though there are times its still slow. thanks

What firmware and lagfix are you using?

When I first upgraded to a stock 2.2 f/w it was zippy at first but soon became slow again as I re-installed my apps. I'm sure you've read about this before as you've already upgraded and lagfixed but not all firmwares and lagfixes are created equal.

I'm on Darkyy's custom rom (find it on xda) and even without the lagfix it's phenomenal. I'm not getting any lag apart from start up judders which are understandable as it's scanning for media. If you haven't already checked out the custom roms on xda you should do so.
