What are the chances that various apps which require login (e.g. messenger apps, social apps, various services etc.) send that information in a non-encrypted, plain-text form -- is it supposed to be safe nowadays, or do such apps still exist?
I know I can only be 100% sure about two of them: email (where I manually set up access to my accounts using SSL/TLS), and accessing websites using https. All the rest is pretty much "behind the scenes" (unless you sniff the traffic before you "approve" the app for "field trips"
).
Has anyone compiled a blacklist of apps that are not safe to use/login in public wifi hotspots (or anywhere outside your safe networks)?
