Blank Mapview - Coundn't get connection factory client

Lately I have been trying to work with Google maps API, but when I run my application the map appears in a blank grid. It gives me the current error "Couldn't get connection factory client."

• I checked permissions on manifest, Internet, Coarse, Fine location.
• I checked at Google's API console if the API was activated.
• I checked the package and the fingerprint at the console.

None of these above solved my problem.

is this on a device or emulator?

if a device, either you dont have a data connection, the api key is the wrong one or not in the manifest, or maybe no play services installed.
