Blinking cursor causes entire screen to flash

Hi All,

I have a brand new 10.1 2014 LTE and I just noticed while in a darker room while typing an email that the entire display faintly pulses bright then dim in perfect timing with the blinking cursor. If I close out and go to the home screen or elsewhere it immediately stops. How is it possible that the little cursor is causing such a drain??

UPDATE:

So it appears the issue is with the Google Keyboard app and Touch Pal X keyboard app. For unknown reasons the blinking cursor in those two apps caused a drain on the display and made the display slightly dim then slightly brighten in perfect timing with the cursors blinking. BUT...Swiftkey and the default Samsung keyboard do not have this effect on my display.
