Blinking "house" indicator above signal bars

I have a Droid Razr running ICS, and I've had this Droid for almost two years. Only a few weeks ago, for the first time I noticed a blue flashing indicator just above the signal strength bars. This indicator looked like a blue house with a ring/halo on the top. It only appeared when I was at a couple different friends' houses and I've never seen it anywhere else...I don't know anything special about those friends' WiFi networks. What does that indicator mean?

I moved your question the forum where your phone is discussed. I believe the icon is showing the presence of a network extender at those locations. Someone with a Razr can perhaps verify that this is correct.

it means you're on a repeater, or signal booster.

a lot of larger buildings use them to get better signal for their employees.
