Help blinking orange/green light

The indicator light is blinking green and orange. I took it to Verizon and was told it was the phone and others have told me it is the battery. It got hotter than usual a few days ago when I talked on it for about an hour. It doesn't charge correctly and the battery indicator is grey with an "!" inside it. Does that mean its just the battery or could it be the phone?

It's probably the battery.
