Block SMS on Xperia M

[greymonkey]

Hello,

I am using a Sony Xperia M mobile phone. Recently I have started receiving some unwanted messages form an unknown number. Since there is no such feature as blocking a number in Xperia, I have downloaded a third party app to block the SMS from that number. But the catch is the SMS isnt delivered to the inbox but I can still view the message in the app. Is there any app which 'rejects' an SMS completely, or atleast hides it from me?

Thnx in Advance

Hello greymonkey, and welcome to Android Forums. We're glad to have you here

Since you have a specific question about an Android application, I've moved your thread to the Applications forum. This should maximize its exposure to our knowledgeable members and get you a good response pronto.

The only non-root application that I've ever used for blocking unwanted calls and text messages is Avast Mobile Security. Avast does a lot more than just call/sms filtering, but I do remember that it worked well for those tasks.

Hopefully someone else can chime in with a solid recommendation for a purpose-built SMS filtering application.

Once, again, welcome aboard
