Unfortunately you can't with Android or an app. Voicemail happens at the carrier. Now, if you carrier offers a blocking feature then that would prevent the voicemail, but you'd have to contact them about that.
Hmm mm... I use Truecaller and White pages caller ID and I don't get any of those annoying voice mails anymore. It just blocks & disconnects them so they don't get a chance to leave a message.

Yeh, that's what number blocking usually does, just drops the call and disconnects. But if the carrier network itself is subsequently routing the dropped call to their voice-mail, then you're still going to get them.
I'm with Verizon. I must be getting lucky then because I haven't had a single one. I was getting tons of calls too prior to using the two apps that I mentioned above. Do you know if all major carriers do the routing thing?
