Help Blocking GPS doesn't block my 3G

So I thought that by disabling GPS I could block my 3G network. I was wrong as it used all my bandwidth in one go. So I had to go in settings and disable packet data.. which is really a chore to do every time I want to turn it on/off.

Is this normal?

If you need to disable 3G go to "Setting >Wireless and networking settings> Mobile network setting" In there can disable data connection as well as change 2G or 3G networks. If you need to disable 3G then tap on the "Network mode" and select "GSM only" that mean only 2G.

3G connection and Data connection are separate things, i think in this situation you need to disable phone data (internet ) connection not disable 3G. So in the "Mobile network setting", unchecked "Data enabled"

The (standard) quick way to on/off data is to long press the power button and select to on/off data.

Alternatively, find an app that gives you an option to toggle the data on/off on the homescreen. I use widgetsoid but there are lots of others.

Cheers
