Blocking SMS

Does anybody know if it is possible to block a specific number to prevent them to send me SMS?
I know how to send calls straight to vocemail but I would like to do the same with SMS/MMS.
Or if this is not possible, is there a way to send an automatic message back to the sender?

Quick search on the market for "sms filter" found quite a few results that appear to do what you want.

Yes, that's probably where I should have started!
Thank you for your advice. I think an app like Handcent does that I will give it a go.
