blue arrow navigation

I believe this was removed in the more recent version of Maps so the only way would be to revert to an earlier version. Easiest way to do this is to uninstall updates, though that will take you back to the version that originally came with the phone.

How do I get back blue arrow navigation alp

The blue arrow was a shortcut to Google Navigation which was, and still is, an integral part of Google Maps.

The navigation function can be accessed from within Maps, or you can use the 'Directions' shortcut which puts a car icon on your home screen. This takes you straight into navigation just as the blue arrow did.

Hope this helps. :)

How exactly do I use the 'Directions' shortcut to put the car icon on my home screen?

If you don't mind, I need step by step instructions.

By the way, I am with tmobile and have the galaxy s4. The 4.3 ruined things and even a factory reset doesn't help cause it just takes you back to 4.3. The new 'Maps' involves too many steps to navigate fast from address to address like I have to do. The blue arrow was one touch, then the big microphone (second touch) and speak the address. DONE!

Also, does rooting the device allow me then to install the previous version that had (still has?) the blue arrow? I would also need detailed steps for this. Anyway thanks.
