Why is there blue tape on the micro sim and micro sd card holder I've had to remove it from the micro sim holder as it was stopping the sim card from ejecting

On this one I found its green

Has any body got any ideas or is it just from when the phone was made and should have been removed

Probably just to protect the exposed contacts which you can see thru the "window". Since the contacts are hidden once a SIM and SD card are installed, and the fact that the SIII has a plastic back, I wouldn't worry about it. I left mine on.
