Somehow I misplaced the icon for the free GPS navigation on my Android Maxx - where would I find it?

Hi, welcome to Android Forums.

In all probability your Google Maps has updated to version 7. The blue arrow/triangle was a shortcut to Google Navigation in version 6, but disappeared as part of the update. You still have navigation with version 7, accessed from within the Maps app, or you can create your own shortcuts using the 'Directions' shortcut wizard which puts a car icon/s on your home screen. This takes you straight to navigation just as the blue arrow did.

It is possible to revert to version 6 but you will miss out on any future updates/improvements to version 7. This link will show you how :- Revert back to previous version of Google Maps on Android - CNET Mobile

I would check first to see what version you have, if you are still on version 6 the blue icon should still be in your app drawer. If it isn't you can still create your own shortcut/s using the Directions & Navigation shortcut wizard.

To create your own shortcut icons in version 6 or 7, longpress on your homescreen, select shortcuts and tap the Directions icon (version 7) or the Directions & Navigation icon (version 6).

Hope this helps. :)
