Help Bluetooth and Navigation

I am a new Samsung Galaxy S II user on AT&T. Love the phone. However there are a few problems including one that affects Navigation. I will try my best to explain, but I understand I might be using logical though improper terms to describe the problem.

My phone pairs perfectly with my car's Bluetooth. The Navigation app 'voices' directions through the speaker EXCEPT when the phone is paired. Whereas a call will 'take over' my radio, the Navigation app does not. Again, the phone and Bluetooth are properly paired. Phone calls work perfectly via Bluetooth.

The simplest way to fix this would be for Navigation not to associate itself with Bluetooth, but instead remain on the speaker. I can't see how to do that and assume it can't be done.

Is there any way to make this work so I can hear directions?

Yes, I think I have the same question. My phone is successfully paired with my car and all phone calls transfer to the car's speakers as should happen. I do not however get my Google Navigation directions over the speakers even when the bluetooth is paired and connected.

If I go to "Voice Talk" that came on the phone I hear the "what would you like to do" prompt over the car speakers. I say "navigate to McDonald's" and it responds by bringing up the screen to choose Google Nav or AT&T nav. At that point, when Voice Talk hands over control to Google nav, the voice from my car speakers stops and I only can hear directions from the phone itself.

I be very appreciative if anyone knows how to keep the turn-by-turn nav voice coming over the car's speakers. Thanks.

If I make a phone call while bluetooth paired, my car radio automatically switches to the bluetooth input on my radio so I can hear/talk. If I want to hear audio on my car stereo from the Navigation program or youtube, I have to select the bluetooth input on my radio manually (in other words I scroll through input sources on my radio.... CD, tuner, Aux, bluetooth). Then all audio from my phone comes over the car radio speakers. This seems logical to me since you may not want to listen to all the audio coming off your phone, but obviously if you are making a phone call you want it to auto switch.

I have a somewhat similar query, except my Samsung Galaxy SII will not allow voice navigation to get through to my BT headset.
I have been testing a few map applications & also contacted Samsung Mobile for support.

One map provider responded to say that I need to check if my phone supports AD2P protocol.
How though ?
It was suggested to play music on phone with BT connected to check that feature.

Any comments on how to get voice navigation from my phone to BT headset ?
I want to use it for motorcycling, so that I can hear the directions without looking at the screen.

Any advise or guidance appreciated.

Your CAR has to have pairing for TWO devices... One for phone and the other for ADP2P for audio. My car has both and works find. When you want to listen to GPS, you'll have the change the AUDIO from CD/MP3/FM/SAT/AM over to BLUETOOTH. Then you'll be able to hear everything from Fieldrunners, Music, GPS, etc... When the phone rings the car's Bluetooth should pick up and allow you to listen to phone calls until it is finished and then will bring you back to the BLUETOOTH audio option...

*IF* your car does not have the requisite AD2P audio option you will have to use the 3.5mm stereo headphone jack to the AUX/MP3 input in your car or get an 3.5mm to CASSETTE player...

Phone works great, but I can't hear the GPS. Is there a way to get the GPS (media?) to play through the Droid's speaker? I don't want to turn off the music just to listen to turn by turn directions. Would be fine to have music interupted by bluetooth when there is a direction. Or, would be fine to have the directions coming through the phone.

But, it doesn't seem like I should have to patch the phone into the aux input, and select just that to listen to. Can I select the outputs so that the phone works through bluetooth, but the nav app works through the internal speaker?
