Bluetooth Audio output too low. How to improve that?

Simply put, getting used to having this Moto X Pure. Got it updated, rooted, all that good stuff. One thing I did find that isn't to my liking (besides the battery), is that now for some reason, its output to Bluetooth for anything but phone calls is very muted. This is especially obvious in YouTube videos, where the output of volume through my Bluetooth earpiece is about 1/4th of its output from its own speakers. Conversely, my Note 3 is somehow able to get louder over Bluetooth than it is on its own speaker.

I would like to be able to improve that somehow. At least with Root already, any tools shouldn't be a problem. But what should I use for that?

Have you ever used Viper4Android.
Grant root, install audio driver, reboot, open V4A app, swipe over to Bluetooth, scroll all the way down. Set output gain to -6.0dB
Hope it helps

Never heard of it before now. Then again, I never had this kind of situation to warrant looking for a software solution to this before.

Literally every other phone I used until now had similar audio volume whether via Bluetooth or its own speaker. Granted, the earpiece in question was the first without its own integrated volume controls, but the Samsung Note 3 I was using just before this seemed to compensate more than handily.

Okay, got the latest build, but I see no options anywhere for output gain. What do I do?

Viper isn't doing a damn thing. It's still too low. Tried Bluetooth volume on the play store and it's only made it even worse. It's quieter than ever.

Something has to be wrong here, because I have plenty of Bluetooth volume. I guess you've already checked volume levels in Settings --> Sound and turned your Bluetooth device's volume up... I think it's time for you to call Motorola. Your device may need to be repaired/replaced.

Um, I had to root.

Moto won't touch me with a 40 foot pole.

Calls are fine in volume. But any media is too quiet over Bluetooth.

Newest build of this app I was able to download and install has no such control or mention of output gain. What options there were concerning Bluetooth had no bearing or difference on the volume output.

Another reason this is going to aggravate me is because the media volume is tied to navigation as well, so it's going to be tough to follow directions if I can barely hear them at all while driving. That's what the earpiece was for.

Update on my end.

Things were just getting weird again. Anyways, from another forum, I found out that I need(ed) to basically enable V4A and the Automatic Gain Control on the bluetooth settings. There is no listing for Output gain in the newest build.

Afterward, it kept wanting to have me reinstall its driver, despite already having root and it enabled in SuperSU. After the third time, though, I started noticing YouTube playback was now at a comparable volume to my old Note 3, and finally, the navigation voice directions were coming in clear.

Thank god for that!:D

Okay, what the hell?

I recently updated the rom to trupurexmm 2.8.2. Started noticing things were screwy, so did another flash

However, when I try again, V4A is doing jack all. If anything, since then, the volume's gotten worse(quieter). I tried uninstalling the driver, uninstalling the app, rebooting, reinstalling the Apk, reinstalling the driver, and rebooting the phone again, and it's still too quiet for YouTube and navigation. And the volume slider on the settings is completely maxed out. It literally won't let me turn them up any higher.

Can someone please help me with this? Either help me fix it to work again, or find a replacement that does work? It's like this phone is actively refusing to accept the benefits of this app again. It's almost like it just wants to make it quieter than ever for attempting to use it.

Seeing that makes me think either Trupure or v4a needs an update to resolve this.

Kinda need to stick with 2.8.2 since that allows VoLTE to work. But this problem is distracting and frustrating enough to make me wanna return the earpiece as defective.

Apologies for thread necro, but I do wonder if anyone else has also noticed and tried bluetooth Audio going on with TruPure 2.9 ...?
