Help Bluetooth Audio Problems

Hi All,

I've had issues with music playback on two different Bluetooth devices. The music randomly mutes for a second and then continues. I thought it was a problem with my earphones until I looked at the phone screen. When the problem happens the time counter on music player actually skips too (like when playing a scratched cd in a cd player). Most of my files are mp3's purchased from Amazon so the quality of the file should be ok. This doesn't happen when using corded earphones. Has anybody had similar problems? If so, how did you fix it? It's incredibly annoying.

I use bluetooth everyday to and from work ( bout an hour each way) to stream music to my car radio. I use I heart radio as well as someof my own music using Google play music and I have no issues.

Have you tried a different music player to see if that may be issue

I have this problem too. Using Audible and connecting to my Ford Focus. While it's not good that someone else has this problem, at least I am not the only one. I've been able to use it a handful of times without this issue. I connect the same way - have my BT on before I start my car and it connects automatically.

I have this happen to me sometimes, but only under certain circumstances. It happens to me while playing mp3 music and listening to it with my bluetooth headset. Some similar situations where it doesn't happen:

- pandora streaming music to bluetooth headset
- mp3 music with oldskool 3.5 headphones
- mp3s streaming music to my car stereo with bluetooth

So in my case, it is not caused by 1 specific thing, but the combination of things. Changing any one of those things makes the skipping/stuttering not happen. Since it happens with mp3s and not pandora, I have guessed that it is caused by streaming higher amounts of data. But for whatever reason, it doesn't happen with my car stereo. So it seems like my car stereo doesn't get choked up the same way as my headset with the higher amounts of data being fed to it.

What you can try is using a PC program to dumb down one of your mp3s to a lower bitrate and try playing it. If your issue is caused by feeding too much data to the headset and it not knowing how to handle it, then a dumbed-down mp3 may fix it.

The only thing that seems to fix the problem for a while is to turn off the phone and then reconnect. It also seems to help if I don't use any of the controls on the earphones (volume, change tracks, etc.).

Does anybody recommend any alternatives to the stock music player app? I'll try that next.

I like Poweramp personally.

I'm looking for a fix to stop the bluetooth 'dropping out' when I connect to my car phone/audio setup.

The problem began when I updated to 4.0.3.

At the moment I have to restart the phone , then in Applications/Running/Bluetoothshare/.... I stop the BluetoothPbapService
The phone and audio will stream without any issues until I dicconnect, turn off the car etc , then I have to repeat the process if I want to use it again :(
