Help Bluetooth automation w/ Tasker and NFC

Hi all.

I've just got a bluetooth charger that also has a mini jack output so I can hook it up to my car stereo. So far, so good, in fact it's brilliant but I have a few questions...

1. The bluetooth device has a little button which I've mounted next to the steering wheel. Holding this button down activates Samsung's voice control car dock thingy. I much prefer Google voice. Is there a way to set the default for this button to activate Google voice search instead?

2. I have NFC enabled. At the minute I'm using NFC Task Launcher which switches on the bluetooth, adjusts screen time out settings, volumes, Wi-Fi Off etc... and loads a car dock app.

What I want to do is have Tasker recognise when I've switched off the ignition i.e. loss of bluetooth connectivity. I want it to wait a few minutes and then reset my settings back to my standard use.

Does anyone know how to do this on Tasker?

Thanks :)

Yes, it's under State -> Net -> Bluetooth Connected. Make this an exit task and select Invert so the state will be Bluetooth Disconnected.

There is a Tasker forum here so, for future questions, you'd probably get a better response rate by posting there.

I'm glad to be able to help.

I like Tasker. It's a powerful tool but it's far from being the most user friendly and some of the settings have taken me ages to find lurking in some slightly odd place.

Actually I have a top tip... To save searching, when you create a new task, type in the key word in the filter for an on the fly search tool. This has come in handy a few times for me not being too sure under what category something is.

It is an awesome app and I'm definitely getting the hang of it, but I think I really need to root to get the best out of it which I'm not too keen on while the phone is in warranty.

I personally like MyProfiles+, it is easy to use and works really well. And yes, it can definitely do what you are wanting to do.
