Bluetooth autoplay

I've seen a million and one posts about Bluetooth autoplay but no one seems to be looking for the solution that I am so I'm making another post. Whenever I turn on my car and the Bluetooth connects it automatically starts playing the last audio program I used. Doesn't matter if it's audible or Spotify or even YouTube if the app is still open. I don't want it to autoplay. If music is not playing when the device is connected I don't want it to start playing. It also does not matter if I let it auto connect or manually connect. I've tried using the task manager to take control of the virtual media button and it does not seem to be working. I still want the audio to come out of my car but only when I manually tell it to do so not automatically. Android auto settings do not work bluetooth settings do not work etc.

To be honest this automatically playing when connected to Bluetooth crap has been an issue for over a decade. Android what the hell are you doing besides bogging down our system with undeletable bloatware like Bixby.

it will also resume playing the audiobook or music whenever I hang up a call if I'm connected to bluetooth. Even if the media was paused before I made or answered the call.

don't have that issue with my note 10+ and my kenwood stereo. nor do i have issue with my JBL bluetooth speakers. what phone and head unit do you have?

Galaxy s9+ and a 20 Corolla. But it also happens with my raycon earbuds.
I know that there is a virtual media button that the bluetooth device take control of and sends the auto play request. So technically it's the Bluetooth device and not the phone, but is there something on the phone I can do or download it to reject the auto play request.

Well Bixby is NOT Android, that's purely Samsung's business and doing, i.e. only Samsung devices have Bixby. As for the "Bluetooth autoplay" issue, I've never had that happen on devices I've had.

I also found that to be very annoying, you can fix that with my favorite util, Tasker, in fact, that very problem was the entire reason I purchased Tasker in the first place. It's not free, but it was only a few bucks, and it's the source of endless fun having your phone bend to your will doing pretty much anything you can think up.

To fix your problem, it's a really easy process to have Tasker 'grab' the media event and then do nothing.
