Is it possible to interface a Bluetooth camera by writing my own custom application? For an ICS tablet mounted in a tricycle with this, I could use a Bluetooth camera as a rear-view mirror. Along with that, I want to be able to see a speedometer, street address (GPS), and compass.
That is, if I could get a custom Android application to communicate with an external camera. I could use a real rear view mirror, but there aren't any 5"+ mirrors that are available for a bike/trike; plus, I'd rather use a camera instead of a mirror just because I'm lusting for gadgets (and I'd rather not want to discuss whether I should turn my head to the left or use a mirror, so there's already a discussion in bikeforums.net in Advocacy and Safety).
Update 1: I've done some research in Google using different keywords and I came across this web page, which is Using External Camera on Android Device. Are there Bluetooth cameras that can communicate using Video4Linux? After I try a hard search using the keywords "bluetooth video4linux" (no quotes) in Google, it turns out there aren't any v4l drivers for Bluetooth cameras. Have I answered my own question or am I off-base?
Update 2: Just to be specific, I'm planning to design a cyclocomputer application that can make use of an external camera. Think of it like a rear view cyclocomputer, like this, but with a tablet instead.
