Help Bluetooth car kit issues

Ok so I swapped out my iPhone for the galaxy s3 ... Problems is the phone connects to my built in Bluetooth .. I can listen to music.. Make and receive calls... But no one can hear me! This is a al deal breaker. Samsung told me to change car kits... I have a 1 year old Toyota .. Find it hard to believe this is not a fixable problem for Samsung... Anyone have any advice?

Guess why I found this post Juz? I have the exact same problem. I have a 2 year old Toyota Camry with a Toyota factory built-in car kit and since switching to the galaxy s3 nobody can hear my end of phone calls.
I can use the car kit to listen to music from the s3 and can even control the music with pause/stop/previous/next buttons from the carkit, but the problem is the microphone is dead.
The bluetooth connection actually takes the microphone function away from the phone over to the car kit, but then doesn't work... Previously I was using a HTC Desire and had no problems at all with the same setup...
I've tried unpairing the devices several times, but to no avail.
I'm not sure what to do next, but I can't change the car kit as it is a factory one and actually works really well with every other phone except for the galaxy S3.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Exactly the same problem in a 2009 Toyota Kluger with the factory 6 stacker with bluetooth. It all worked with a HTC Desire and then a HTC Sensation, but not with my S3. I went back to the dealer where I got the phone and they couldn't help. They said the new HTC One has the same problem. The thing they have in common is Bluetooth version 4.0. Hopefully someone will come up with a patch either for the phone or the radio :(

I am having problems with my galaxy s3 with car kits in my new vw up (people can hear me but i cant hear anyone, although there is a button I can press which solves the problem after 2-3 seconds), in my vauxhall zafira (similar problem, but no way to solve)

this forum seems full of bluetooth issues with the samsung galaxy s3

what are samsung doing about this?

how do we get this resolved?

I am close to taking this phone back

thanks
Kevin

I have a 2009 Prius. A coworkers t-mobile S3 was able to connect to both my TuneLink A2DP and the Prius car kit simultaneously, as I do with my DX. Plaing music worked. When making or receiving a call, music is paused. Answering or making calls, voice works both ways.

Same issue with inability to hear voice or send voice, but can hear phone sounds through car speakers.

Eclipse 726E, 2009 Corolla

Can an issue like this be fixed through updates? or ROMs?

I already tried rooting my S3 then running "Bluetooth Fix Repair" in the Play Store. Didn't fix anything - same problems.

No problems with my mercedes 2007 gl320. I will tell you that it is not uncommon for some bluetooths to not sync or not fully sync with a phone. i.e. My droid bionic, droid 3, HTC thunderbolt would sync as far as bluetooth, but the alphanumeric data on the car's preinstalled system would not load. The SG3 info all transfers over for me without an issue. it may be a compatibility issue. Sorry. :(

I tested the bluetooth connectivity in my car and it too does not allow the other person to hear me. However, I can answer the call with the car controls and a button shows up on the head unit that lets me switch to the handset when my aux cable is plugged. Not great, but better than trying to unplug the cable and putting it back it when the call is done.
