bluetooth compatability

I have a t-mobile mytouch 4g and my girlfriend has a straight talk samsung sch455. We are trying to connect via bluetooth and the phones will pair but won't connect. Is there a way to make them compatible?

What do you mean by "won't connect"? They won't connect unless there's a reason to (file sharing, etc). Once you're done with whatever you're doing via BT they'll disconnect.
