Help Bluetooth connection issues on Note 5, Android version 6.0.1

Deidre

Lurker
I'm having issues with with my Note 5 staying connected to my Bluetooth. Downloaded Android update version 6.0.1 a few days ago, but the problem started shortly before this download.
I have "cleared the cache" on a few items in my phone but this does not seem to help. I have read on a few places online that I will need to do a factory reset of the phone. I am absolutely willing to try this as a last resort but was wondering if there are any other suggestions?
If in fact I have to reset the phone, what do I need to do to protect my personal items in the phone? I know I need to back them up but is there a way to back them up all at once or do I have to separately:
1. Back up my photos
2. Back up my text messages
3. Back up my music etc?
Any info given will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

For some reason, Bluetooth and Android haven't played well in years. I don't know if it's the Bluetooth binaries in Android or not, but something could be improved a lot. If you have unpaired (i.e. "forgotten" the device) and re-paired it, then you can TRY a factory reset. You can always back up internal memory to a PC folder: pictures, videos, music and files. Text messages can be backed up with any of several apps in Play like SMS Backup. If the Note 5 has Samsung Cloud, you can back everything up there and bring it back to the phone after you log in and set it back up. Good luck!
