My wife has the Galaxy 551 and is fairly happy except for one point: when she tries to use Bluetooth to connect it to her car (a Ford S Max 2009 model), it shows it is paired, connects and then drops the connection.
As all other phones work with the car, I have isolated it down to the 551 itself and further experimentation led to the following:
If I pair the phones but refuse to allow the car access to the phone's directory, the connection is 100%, no problems. The only issue is with every connection she is being asked to authorise the car to access the phone directory (however even without authorisation, the connection is still ok).
My question is, does anyone have any idea what could be causing the bluetooth connection to crash when the phone directory is being shared with the car?
To conclude, if she refuses to allow sharing of the directory, the bluetooth connection works, she can receive and make phone calls (via voice dialling, she has yet to see whether the car can access the numbers on the SIM card) but if she automatically authorises the phone, the connection crashes.
Interestingly, the question for authorisation is posed twice - indicating that the phone is trying to share both the Phone directory as well as the SIM directory. If I reject the first request for authorisation and accept the second, the connection is ok. However automatically granting authorisation means both requests are accepted and the connection is dropped as soon as it's made, the bluetooth hands free becomes unusable.
Any ideas how I can address this?
