Bluetooth connectivity

I'm having difficulty with my Bluetooth connection to the incar handsfree kit. Xperia X10 and Sony Ericsson HCB-700. Whilst I can receive calls, the phone book is unaccessable. Any advice would be appreciated.
 
its because the car kit is an old one where the phone is new

all you can do is answer or dial from the phone with will go through the car kit..or buy a new car kit

worked ok with my parrott ck3200
