Hi. For a few months, I've used a little Keedox brand bluetooth 4.0 receiver for my (wired) noise-canceling headphones. Since I've had the receiver, the user controls have behaved as follows: single-tap play/pause button = play or pause current song; double-tap = next song; triple-tap = previous song. So...identical behavior to a single-button wired headset.
Until this week. Today, single-tap play/pause is unchanged but double-tap play now tries to call the last entry in my call log (WTF?). To change to next or previous song, I have to use the tiny +/- volume buttons on the Keedox receiver. This only seems to affect bluetooth controls. Wired controls still recognize the old single/double/triple tap just fine.
Any idea what changed and how to get the old bluetooth user controls back?
FWIW, I'm using PowerAmp as the music player but I saw similar bluetooth behavior with the stock music player.
Info: GS3 i747 (AT&T), Android 4.4.2
