Hey all,

Been searching the web the market these forums for a simple thing.
I have the Galaxy Tab so headset is a must.
I have a Plantronics BT headset, and BT in my Audi.
I need a way to force the phone to connect to my car, when in range and/or active, and otherwise be connected to my headset.
I am getting desperate for this as its been 6 months now, and its the only thing that :( me, about my tab.

Thanks,
~S

This seems like it should be a basic piece of functionality but to my knowledge this looks like an omission in the Bluetooth spec and the way Bluetooth is implemented (someone please correct me if I am missing something here).

I have the same problem you have... I have a bluetooth headset that I use outdoors when calling and if I get into my car I want it to seamlessly switch to my car's bluetooth without interrupting the call - i.e. the headset should "hand off" the connection to the car's bluetooth or the next device that has priority over the current one...or RETAIN the connection if the headphones is set to have the highest priority.

This should actually pretty easy to do - if the phone is paired with multiple clients there should be a way to prioritize devices in case there are multiple active paired devices in range.

In my case I have to go through a series of very inconvenient manual steps..first disconnect the call and then power off the headset to disconnect the Bluetooth connection. When I do so for some reason the phone does not connect to the car, I have to go into the Bluetooth settings and re-establish the connection with the hard - highly inconvenient.

Someone please tell me there is a better solution to this...LOL!

jae_63, I'm not quite sure what that app does. My bluetooth does connect automatically, i'm not quite sure what that app is trying to achieve.

On my Galaxy Note 3 the headset always appears at the top of the list regardless of which order I pair the devices.

The app claims to do lots of things. Of particular relevance to your question are:

■ Prioritize your devices and select profiles for each
■ Priority retry

The leftmost screen capture reads, in part: "Devices: Select devices and their priorities"
