bluetooth + dun problem

Hi there. Hope this is not OT here. Couldn't find other place.

Is DUN via BT supposed to shut down internet access from the android device?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab and I use DUN via BT to surf from my windows laptop. But then I can't surf from my Tab! Opera and the default web browser show "address unreachable" error.

Is it supposed to work this way? Is there any way to have internet access from both devices while using DUN via BT?

For some reasons I don't want to use wifi or usb tethering. I'd prefer to find a solution based on BT.

Anyone with suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Bye.

Alberto

I haven't gotten BT DUN to work on my N1/MBP either and use PDAnet tethered via USB cable. Not a prob as I'm sitting in front of my MBP to work on it anyway.

Hi 3Bier. Thanks for your fast reply.

Let me define better my problem.

DUN via BT works fine, it does what it is supposed to do i.e. let my laptop surf the net.

The problem is that it does not let the android device (the one actin as a server for the DUN service) to surf the net as well.

Is it supposed to work this way? Or am I missing some configuration bit?

Take care.

Alberto

Looks like the phone - in its role as an internet router - can only handle one connection at a time. Can't say I'm surprised, really.

You gave me a clue.

In fact I think DUN over BT does not route at all. It simply offers a dialup and that's all and that's not supposed to route anything as there's one client only.

Thank you 3Bier I'll shout you a Beer (pun intended here ;-) ) if you come by.

Take care.

Alberto
