Bluetooth Headset w/ A2DP and...

BoomerFZ1

Newbie
I'm currently using a Plantronics Voyager 855 and I really do like it as an A2DP device but as a bluetooth headset, it kinda sucks. Sound quality is crap and it often doesn't accept calls even when it's connected. I'd like a better product but one thing that I NEED is the ability to pause my podcast/music from the headset. The 855 has a dedicated "Mute" button that does just that though sometimes you have to hit it twice.

So, I'm looking for a nice, single ear BT device (use it mostly for podcasts when driving so stereo isn't important) that supports A2DP, had good call quality and the ability to pause the streaming music or podcast from my Evo...anyone???

Thanks so much in advance!!!

Not sure about the mute button, but the Voyager Pro + by Plantronics is a solid A2DP device.

I just ordered one. I really like the BlueAnt T1 for what it does for me, but it's been slipping out of my ear a lot lately.

Behind the ear headsets while bulky fit so much better.

There is an app in the market called vocalist that will read your text messages to you. Unlike Vlingo you can set it to only read over the headset.

The headset arrived today and it's a good headset. While searching for reviews on the vocalyst service I found the Plantronics savor M1100. I'm going to get that one instead and send the Voyager pro+ back. The M1100 has a2dp, can use vocalyst, and it allows you to answer or ignore calls using your voice.

I have the new headset. Much smaller than the Pro plus, stays in my ear unlike the BlueAnt T1, plays music and I can answer or ignore calls with my voice. Talk time is only 4 hours whereas the Pro plus is 6.

Jawbone Icon does that. Well, I can't pause music or podcasts (although I think you can do that with an update from the mytalk site), but audio will pause automatically for another event such as incoming call or navigation sound prompts.

Call quality is excellent for the other person. I've used mine in loud locations and callers never even knew when I was in noisy environments. I don't quite fit any of the earbuds though. Med is too small, large is a bit too large. I'm looking at several gel earpieces that will provide a seal and greatly improve music quality.

JAwbone Icon/thinker I luv as well there you go triple the delight here, alos wawaiting a ANT,

just that the BT slips out someone make a angle and better deign 90 degres in does not cut it.

I like my Jabra Extreme -- I also tried the Jawbone Icon but it was just not loud enough for me and the A2DP sounded tinny. Plus the Extreme is less expensive :)

Agree not 100% the jawbone. I recieve calls one call is LOUD, the next one well low, etc. its not the jawbone, its others, their phones, etc.

the jawbone is not angled to fitt he ear correctly. and sometimes you have to cope with wearing that ear clip. and you think its loose but it's not.

not supposed to be forced into Ear canal..

As for tinny. I think it's to teh individual and phones. its not a Bosesystem so I expect just sound, nothing more

One hour later my phone is DEAD. so why bother with AD2P unless you're a Desk

Junkie, I am not, I am a Outdoors Junkie LOL.

Junkie.

Because I like to listen to music without bothering other people. I also like having my text messages read to me over my headset. Without a2dp you have to do that with a wired headset or with the phone speaker.

Currently looking at the jabra extreme 2...
Does anyone have one that can rate it for me?
Thanks in advance...

Shame ... you lost me at Single Ear. I'm a huge fan of the RocketFish stereo headset from Best Buy. Pricey, but it is fantastic.

Does anyone have any experience with these whilst jogging?
