Bluetooth List

I've been looking for answers on this too -- and from what I've seen, unless you "root" the phone, you can't.

The other threads I found all said the same thing: long-press the device you want to remove (on the BT settings screen) and select "remove'.

Except ... on my S3, that is not possible. Pressing the device entry only initiates pairing -- and if the device is out of range, that fails, leaving you with a device that you can not remove.

Oh, I also now remember that some threads said to do a factory refresh. Yeah right! I want to trash all the stuff saved in the phone simply to remove a BT device.

What I was hoping to find is that the device(s) were stored as config files in the "phone" filesystem -- and if you could find the directory, you might be able to just delete the file(s). But, no one has replied with any hints about that.

The problem is what it's showing are the devices in the area. So you really may remove it but it will just re-detect it and re-add it. What you really want is some kind of ignore bluetooth device functionality.

Actually, in my case, it's showing a device that is NOT in the area -- at least, not anymore. So, since it can't pair anymore, I can't remove it, either.

And, since ICS has removed the ability to mount the filesystem in the phone, unlike with my "old" HTC Dinc, I can't just search for the errant device file and remove it.

I didn't regret getting the HTC Dinc, but now, I'm regretting the S3 more every day.

Bunchy is correct. After you unpair reboot the phone and it should be gone.

Didn't happen to me -- still there. And then suddenly, one day, when I got disgusted enough to take it in to a Verizon store to complain, when I brought up the BT settings -- it was gone!
