Is there any harm to leaving Bluetooth on all the time? Since it is 4.0 I'm guessing that it doesn't waste too much energy anyway. My phone connects to Bluetooth in the car so I can call.
The ONLY "harm" is battery drain. If the phone is being powered by the car, it may shorten the life of the car battery by a few seconds, or cost you 10 cents in gas every year. (IOW, no actual effect.) If the phone is on battery you WILL notice a shorter time between charges - Bluetooth isn't normally a very low powered part of the phone.
That's what I was wondering. I'm used to leaving Bluetooth on in the phone and let it connect when I get in the car. Usually it's just connected but not actually in use.
I was wondering if it drained that much power just by staying connected.
Asking because yesterday I didn't use it much during the day but noticed the Media Server service was the most used. I figured it's because I drove a lot in the morning and all it was doing was just in my pocket connected to the car.
