Bluetooth transferring all my contacts to the car - HELP

Brettjmcc

Newbie
Hi,
When I link my phone to the car it pulls all my contcats in as the address book, inc FB.

I have set the phone up as per peoples' tips and tricks and only have my phone contcats on the phone, but Bluetooth seems to override that.

Any idea?

Well I had a look last night. The Mondeo only gives me an option to connect that's all. Tried looking in the phone but no options.

The wierd thing is that it is pushing everything to the car when the 'Phone Book' syncs including the entry for sending a message.

For example, My Mum now has 3 entries when I look at her in comtacts Mobile, Home and then send a message. All three of these now appear in the car phone book when it syncs!

Any ideas?

Hmmm. Strange one. All the OEM car bluetooth problems I've read about have been about not being able to connect at all. You almost have the opposite problem ....

If the car stereo has the ability to download contacts there must be more information on the radio controls that give it this ability? I have a Pioneer BT radio and the manual has several pages on BT setup. Maybe ring Ford?

I have exactly the same issue with my ford fiesta. I guess its the same system for mondeo and fiesta.

In my phone contacts app I have my contacts filtered to only show people with phone numbers (e.g. no google, no facebook, no etc) but when syncing via bluetooh to my car the phone just transfers absolutely everything, including hundreds of mail addresses I ever mailed/received mail from in gmail, making the car phonebook completely useless (you just can't browse through so many contacts while in your car, it's ridiculous).

If anyone knows any workaround to this issue please help!

If it were me I'd BACKUP THE PHONEBOOK (in caps as it's quite important)
Log in to Gmail on the PC and edit contacts to remove unwanted info.
Wipe the phone contacts (might not be necessary?)
Sync the phone to Google.
Sync with your car.
Re-import your backed-up contacts.

A long way around but should only need doing once if you can manually add new contacts to your car!

Gmail automatically makes a contact out of every mail in your inbox.

That means that if it is in your inbox, it's a contact, you can't do anything about it, you can't remove it!

Has anyone got anywhere with this I've got the same problem with my 08 mondeo titanium x and its driving me mental, to scroll for a contact its quicker to stop and dial it aaaaahhhh
