Help Bluetooth using different ringtone!!

Hey Everyone,

Just got my Nexus S recently and I love it. :) However, I am having a small issue when it is paired with my car stereo. (or any other bluetooth device for that matter)

When I have an inbound call via bluetooth, my phone uses the configured ringtone but the bluetooth device uses something different. With my old phone (Nokia E71) my stereo would play whatever ringtone I had configured on the phone.

This is not a major issue, but it is annoying. Especially because I have different ringtones for different people.

Hopefully you guys can help me out.

Thanks

J.O.

Same with Ford Sync. As the poster above stated, Android isn't compatible with sending ringtones. Just disable the ringtone with your bluetooth device, and you'll just hear the phone ring. That's what I did.

Funny thing is, if I get a text message, it starts on my phone, and then halfway through plays over Ford Sync.

Well, over 7 years later (!!) has this issue been sorted? - I've just fallen victim to it.
I've recently changed from an iPhone to a Samsung J5 (Great Phone) and was used to having my wifes ringtone play through my Ford Sync2 system whereas now, the phone itself rings (with the tone) but the car system plays some crappy std tone (yes I know - I can select crappy tone1, 2 or3).
If it hasn't been sorted, there has to be an excellent reason why - what is it please ?!

I did check the link in post #2 - but it seemed that dried up over a year ago. Bluetooth audio - e.g. music via Spotify works just fine - so why not a simple ringtone??
