Bluetooth volume on headset activation

Hi all,

I've been setting up my unrooted Galaxy S3 with Android 4.3 to allow turn by turn navigation on a motorcycle. I have a helmet with a bluetooth headset, through which I want to receive the voice instructions.

The issue I am facing is that the headset volume, when the GPS app gives a direction, is low for 2 to 3 seconds, after which it resumes at a normal volume.
This means that due to wind noise I often miss (part of) the instruction.

Is there a setting or app that overrides this low volume startup? I have used the same headset with a Galaxy Ace 2, in which this problem does not occur, so I cannot imagine it's the headset's problem.

It also happens when the phone starts to play music.
When playing music, the GPS directions come through at normal volume, so I *think* it only happens when the headset is activated..

Any suggestions? Thank you!

This might work but I haven't had a chance to try it with my navigation. This app will let you delay the voice output. After it's installed, go to home/menu/settings/My device/Language and input/Test-to-speech options, and select EnhancedTTS/settings(gear shape)/settings for EnhancedTTS. Change the "pause before" to 2 or 3 seconds. Now try the bluetooth turn by turn instructions. Does this help?

Thanks for the idea, and sorry for the late reply.

I've tested it, but the low volume is still there at the start of an instruction, unfortunately. Also, I'm not so sure a TTS engine is used for GPS apps, as there are not so many possible instructions. So maybe they just play sound-files?

Thanks though! I will continue searching and post it if I find a solution..
