Android Question

Hi, how are you? I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 with Telstra (Australia), and whenever I go to check the battery performance on the phone, it shows Bluetooth as using 34% of the battery even though I do not have Bluetooth enabled. I'm worried that it is using battery in the background somewhere but I don't know how to disable it. Any advice would be great, thanks.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums. Hopefully I can help you with your problem.

If you have Bluetooth disabled and it's still pulling power from the battery them something definitely is amiss. There are apps on the market specifically designed to monitor you phone and the apps that are using up your battery. I suggest using one of these apps and see if you can narrow it down to exactly which process is using your Bluetooth. If you can do that and you find it is an app that you need but only on occasion, you can use Titanium Backup or one of the other apps out there that will freeze the app until you need it. The Greenify app may also be an option.

It could also be a hardware issue. If you cannot identify the culprit with one of the battery monitoring apps them I suggest contacting Samsung. You may have faulty hardware.

I have an S3 and we have a great section here will a wealth of information in it. The S4 section here is the same way.

I invite you to join Android Forums and ask some of the experts in that section about the issue you are experiencing. They may very well be able to help you out if it's not hardware related. There is also a lot of other information in that section that you may find very useful. If you are rooted, the S4 section is broken down into sub-forms for different carriers.

Best of luck.
