There's a big recall of Boar Head Deli Meat. 71 different meat items have been recalled. There has actually been a couple of deaths from it

I have an Albertson grocery store called Jewel-Osco by me in Illinois that sells Boar Head Deli Meat. I bought their Olive Loaf a couple of weeks ago and got an email from the grocery store today. I have eaten all of the Olive Loaf, but I learned a long time ago to always heat Deli Meat up to prevent any problems, All the Olive Loaf I ate was heated up

This wouldn't work for me: I don't use store loyalty cards, so the store wouldn't know who I am, what I have bought or how to contact me.

But hey, if it saves someone a nasty experience then it's a good idea. Otherwise people who don't listen to the news and don't go to the store very often won't hear about it.

Likewise, takes too much time on reading through emails, the local grocery store stopped giving us birthday cakes ages ago.

Yeah used to have a few of the Jewel-Osco, there is still one somehow in Urbana. Just a desert wasteland.

I just read about an 88 year old woman who spend 9 days in the hospital and 11 days in a rehabilitation center from the Boar Head listeria infection.

Why isn't Boar Head testing the meat before they send it out? Things like this are always uncovered by the FDA or Health Officals. There has been a couple of lawsuits filed against Boar Head. I serious doubt Boar Head will recover from this.

My local Albertson grocery store, still has Boar Head meat featured in their Deli, but only 4 meats and a couple of cheeses, compared to 25 meats before. Who would buy it now, even though it wasn't from the Jarratt Boar’s Head plant?

I don't see Boar Head surviving this

yeah i never really buy deli meat to begin with so it will not affect me....unless places like Jersey Mike's use that meat. i do love their sandwiches especially the number 13.

LMAO!!!!!! Asians instead of oriental.

i just read that Jersey Mike's and Subway to do not use Boars head for their meats......so my regular #13 on wheat, Mike's way, with no onions is safe to order and eat.

Thank you for the clarification. I am done getting Boar's Head after the recent issues and that article was just the icing on top of the cake. Hopefully Kroger's Private Select lunch meat have some decent options. I will definitely miss the BH blacked Cajun Turkey though 😒
