Help bookmarks gone bad

I have a 6 month old S4 that has been showing some odd behavior. A store representative suggested that to fix it, he would clear the data for Chrome, and google plus. When I got home, I realized my (200+) bookmarks were gone.
About an hour later, I had bookmarks again, but they were from a computer that I had not used in 2 years.
I don't understand, and neither did the tech support guy I called.

This is something I've never used, but possibly you turned off automatic bookmark syncing via the cloud, maybe round about two years ago?

I certainly did not, and I don't believe the salesmen would have either.

Is there a way to find out what google user names have logged in from my phone?

I suspect the salesmen did not use my email address when setting the phone up.

Used the google username finder, and I found my name and password on a previously unknown email address.
If this was the account the salesman set up on my phone, it never synced anything at all.
