I cleared all data to my Web browser i'm settings/manage applications. It erased all my bookmarks which I expected. But it also added a shit load of new ones. Msn, Ebay, Myspace, BBC, etc.. And these can't be edited or removed?
I didn't have all these UN removable bookmarks before. just to confirm i'm using gingerbread version and using AT&T Samsung infuse 4g sgh-i997
Without more information, it's going to be difficult to figure out exactly what's going on. I, too, am running an Infuse with 2.3 Gingerbread on it, and nothing like this happens on my phone when I either clear the browser's history, or cache, or data, or even reset it to factory state.
There are some non-removable/un-editable bookmarks, though... specifically, there are three from AT&T (one that goes to the mobile site, one for device help, and one for hotspots). And those will be there no matter what you do.
However, all the rest you list...
...I dunno... sounds like maybe you have some malware on your phone.
We could get into a whole thing here about what you should do, but I don't want to insult you if your skill level is sufficient that you either already know this stuff, and/or have already done it.
But, seriously, you either have malware (or so I at least suspect), or an app which insists that all those bookmarks be there (actually, that one is more likely it); and I would argue that any apps with such requirements are, in fact, a form of malware... but maybe that's just me.
